Newer mid-range cards like the 5700 XT for $350-$400 are actually better for gaming & use less power, but with only 2560 stream processors, they don't perform as well for compute tasks, Vegas Video, etc. (You have to have a decent power supply though.) I found a refurbished, but like-new liquid-cooled VEGA 64 for $350 at Newegg & it performs very close to a Radeon 7 n VEGAS. ![]() Or you can hunt around for a VEGA 56 for $250 or VEGA 64 for $360 at NewEgg which will give you much better performance with 3584/4096 Stream Processors. IMO a RX580, like recommended, is not a good bang/buck card for $200 with only 2304 stream processors when you can get a RX570 for around $120 that has similar performance. The AMD Radeon R9 200 is over 6 years old (2013 era) so your two options are to use an older version of Vegas or get a newer GPU. I'd really like to see my GPU get used as renderings are so slow! In case it matters, here's the AMD GPU I'm using: AMD Radeon R9 200 SeriesĪMD/ATI® Radeon with 4 GB and VCE 3.0 or higher (Radeon Pro series with 8 GB for HDR and 32 bit projects - This isn't actually true, my Radeon 7 does 32 bit & HDR fine). If I use any other rendering choice, I don't get the error and the file I'm trying to create gets built. Looking at the GPU log all looks good until I see these messages: When I attempt to render with MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4 (Internet UHD 2160p 29.97 fps (AMD VCE), I get a popup message saying "An error occurred while creating the media file." "The reason for the error could not be determined". ![]()
